Saturday, Sept 6: National Day of Service
Democrats Work partners
with Democratic and progressive organizations to get their members and
supporters to volunteer for local service projects. DW is teaming up with
grassroots organization Obama
Works for a National
Day of Service on September 6. This is a great opportunity to give back
to our community while showing solidarity with other progressive Democrats
across the country. Join us as we make repairs, do some painting, and clean
up the yard at Way Back Inn in Kent.
Way Back Inn provides 90-day transitional housing for homeless families
with children under 14. They have several properties in South
King County
where homeless families can stay while looking for work and a permanent
residence. If you can participate, please sign up here.
Wednesday, Sept 17: Monthly Meeting and Food Drive
The regular monthly meeting of the 31st District Democrats at
the Marion Grange. Come to 27725 Buckley-Sumner
Hwy E., in Buckley, at the curve in the Sumner-Buckley
Hwy E just north of its junction with Mundy
Loss Rd E. Social hour begins at 6:00 pm
and the general meeting begins at 7:00 pm.
From Highway 410, turn -- left if coming from Bonney Lake/right if coming
from Enumclaw -- at the traffic signal for Mundy Loss Rd E. The Grange hall
will be just after Mundy Loss sort of becomes Sumner-Buckley Hwy, on the
right. There's a dirt parking lot. Please
bring a non-perishable food item for our regular monthly food drive.
